The VOTE is in for the UK's best and worst seaside destinations and the North East's very own 'Bamburgh' in Northumberland has come out on top, according to the annual survey conducted by Which?

As regular visitors to Bamburgh Castle and surrounding beach, the Village and many of its pubs and restaurants PJR Creative can vouch for it's beauty and welcoming attractions. Over the years we have travelled the length of the North East Coast from Tynemouth (positioned 6th) to Berwick upon Tweed visiting family and friends, dining out, holidaying and photographing the abundance of wonderful attractions dotted up and down the coast which we will illustrate here. The beautiful and wide uncrowded beach at Cresswell about two miles along the coast from Druridge Bay with a lovely cafe and fish and chip restaurant ('Drift' - I believe) - get there early if you want a free spot in the car park or you could be parking way along the dunes as it get busy (there's worse places to park). What could be better?
The survey revealed the rankings for Britain's finest as well as the most disappointing seaside destinations and for the 'third' year in a row, the quaint village of Bamburgh in Northumberland (just 35 minutes up the coast) has risen above it's rivals to claim the ultimate prize. Bamburgh, with its picture postcard vistas, has secured the coveted top spot for the third year in succession, justifying it's reputation as a beloved favourite among tourists, ramblers and day-trippers.

According to Which? over 3,000 people rated their experiences at UK seaside towns in the last year. Criteria included quality of the beaches, food and drink offerings, tourist attractions and value for money (reported in the 'Mirror'). With an impressive score of 88%, Bamburgh firmly secured the top spot.

Miles of golden sand overlooked by Bamburgh Castle (2021)
A beach enthusiast praised the village for its
"super-soft sand that extends as far as the eye can see"
and the abundance of space, ensuring the beach never feels overcrowded. Bamburgh is renowned for its sandy beach, which also features the ruins of its ancient castle. Notably, the exceptional quality of its beach and seafront, as well as the tranquility experienced even during peak periods, contributed to its high ratings (as reported by Suruchi Sharma Diwan).
