(275 and counting).
The first two paragraphs of this blog were typed out in November last year but a crazy work schedule and a busy home scene curtailed any progress until now...
November 2019.
Life at PJR Creative has been pretty busy lately, which is wonderful (obviously) but it hasn’t helped when trying to keep our social media up to date.
So weekend blogs from the sofa are now a thing!

You may have noticed that it has been a little while since we last blogged about completing our 150th job and an awful lot has happened in the last 4 months since so I will try and enlighten you (memory permitting).
Here goes... well, for starters we are through another 85 jobs in what seems like a blink of an eye. We have gone international (dealing with our first client overseas), had our first birthday, broke our own record for logo designs (some examples below) in a single month and we’ve even found time to add 8 great new clients to our ranks (hence the pretty busy period) and even presented an award to one of our clients.
We have also had some of the nicest comments about our work recently (it’s always nice to be appreciated and to receive good feedback), one of our biggest clents Marmax Products won the CSR Excellence Award for their education brochure - that WE designed #proudmoment.
Skills have been discovered that we never knew we had - spinning plates for instance, developing new limbs and morphing into Dr. Octopus... “we just needed more hands?” We have had a brilliant 12 months and we couldn’t have dreamt that it would end on such an incredible high, exceeding all our expectations!
So its time to say Thank You for believing - we really appreciate all your support x
January 2020 and 50 jobs later!
We have just booked in our 275th Job, yet another landmark number.
In the past three months since last putting pen to paper we have continued to be a bit of a branding shop, at the last count we have created thirteen logos with at least two more due in studio in the forthcoming days. I might even show you a couple if you promise to be on your best behaviour... But be warned 'Jimmy'z Live Noodz' comes with a health warning, don't stare for long periods as it might damage your retinas - one of the most bizarre logo briefs I have ever had (laughs).
We have recently completed two more brochures for Marmax Products that were very well received too (take a sneak peak at some pics from their Care Home Brochure below).

Our Favourite Project (so far...)
After a swiftly arranged latté and a pleasant chat with Craig (BPP) on the banks of the Tyne to discuss their requirements, I headed back to the office with a great brief in-hand (actually in a man bag - don’t judge me). Back at PJRC armed with an abundance of information I started to browse through their requirements: branding, a game board, two decks of cards, a spinner, several in-game activity sheets, dialogue cards, a facilitator guide, facilitator notes and player rules... with a huge dollop of artistic licence for good measure.
The ‘Change’ project was a delight from beginning to end and creatively rewarding too. Our client was very happy with ‘the end results which he is now showcasing at various conferences and road shows up and down the UK and is receiving great feedback.
“Peter it looks fantastic” BPP
Take a look for yourself - any (nice) comments will be gratefully received....
The brief has already landed for the next one - and so it goes on (we really love our clients)!

Whistle while you work...
Our current office listening habits
The office playlists have been busy too although the occasional podcast has now broken in to the weekly soundbites - Chris and Rosy Ramsay’s ‘Shag, Marry, Avoid’ is one podcast that we are working our way through - it may be a bit (c)rude but it is very amusing and some of the stories from the pubic are beyond belief... laugh, cry, vomit and repeat!
As for top tunes... recently we have been listening to some new songs and albums and re-discovering some forgotten jems too! Our current office favourites are...
The Man - Jamie Cullum, Longshot by Catfish & The Bottlemen, Life through a glass - Curtsy. Its Summertime - Morcheeba, Castles - Freya Ridings, Soul On Top - Boca 45 Black Moon Rising by Black Pumas plus the brilliant Courteeners song - Hanging Off Your Cloud.
as for Albums...the latest offerings from the Twang, Cold War kids, the brilliant ‘Kiwanuka’ from Michael Kiwanuka (can’t wait to see him and his wonderful band next month). Liam Gallagher’s Acoustic Sessions and also the return of The Who after i3 years..
Colours, fonts and stuff...
Our favourite current font is Romantically Free - I always have difficulty finding a hand drawn font that I am comfortable with but this works on all fronts for me!

Currently favouring a Mustard & Grey colour combo.

..and just before we head back to the job sheets, a beautifully elegant and very delightful website that caught our eye is absurd.design - we love it!

Until the next time you lovely, lovely people.
Pete.
